Good evening everyone!
I hope this email finds you and your family well and ready for February.
I am writing to you to share resources regarding COVID-19 vaccinations. Vaccines are in short supply, and so is manpower at the Health Department. We just entered into Phase 1B, and it’s obviously taking a tremendous amount of time to reach the point we want to be at. Know that the Health Department is ready and willing to partner with agencies and counties, and the department is working very hard to get this done. I will continue to work hard to help and advocate for additional vaccines and manpower, not only for Buckingham, but our region.
COVID-19 Information
Tomorrow, I will participate in a Regional Virtual Town Hall at 7 p.m. that will include the Virginia Department of Health to discuss vaccinations and their availability. You can watch this from the comfort of your home, using your phone or computer. Here is a link to the event: https://fb.me/e/cPfjchErZ. There will be much information shared during this town hall.
Central Virginia Health Services–Buckingham is pleased to announce that beginning Monday, 1/25, we will begin vaccinating our patients and community members under Phase 1B (those ages 65+ and essential employees). If you wonder if you are eligible for vaccination, please visit https://vdh.jebbit.com/amkwk6m1?L=Owned+Web&JC=Vaccine. Vaccines will be given on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, starting at 1:00 PM. There are limited vaccine spots, so appointments are required. You can also call 434-581-3271.
Centra Health is also offering vaccines per the phased approach. See more information here: https://www.centrahealth.com/SCH.
