I am excited to announce that, effective July 1, 2021, Karl R. Carter will serve as County Administrator of Buckingham County.
The Board of Supervisors voted unanimously on Monday, June 14, 2021 to appoint Carter, our current Assistant County Administrator, to the top county position. The board also unanimously agreed to advertise for the soon-to-be vacant position of Finance Director.
Mr. Carter, who possesses a wealth of county government skills, knowledge and talents, has served with the county for 15 years, starting as Finance Director, transitioning to Assistant County Administrator approximately 8 years ago. He has played an integral role in many successful projects and transitions, notably his involvement in the county budget and county finances, and supervision of other departments outside of finance.
