Special Edition of The Maysville Voice: Personal Property Tax Deadline Delayed and Town Hall Meeting This Saturday

Welcome to The Maysville Voice, the newsletter for those who reside and vote in the Maysville District in Buckingham County. I am pleased to bring you much information, links, and resources to inform and engage with you as your County Supervisor.

Personal Property Tax Delay to Help Taxpayers

On Tuesday evening, the Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to extend the due date for personal property taxes until Jan. 5 instead of Dec. 5 and we also voted to waive the 3% convenience fee for credit card payments until March 1 for personal property taxes. This is to help those on fixed incomes, those struggling financially, and those who live pay check to pay check pay their tax bills which, because of the economy, have seen higher values in their vehicle assessments. Of note, the Board did give assessment relief by concurring with the Commissioner in using a reduced value formula. Please help me spread the word!

Town Hall Meeting is Saturday at 9 AM

I welcome you to join us for the final 2022 edition of The Maysville Voice, which will be held virtually, online. Those invited include School Board Member Joii Goodman, along with CenturyLink representative Rich Schollman, to provide updates to the Maysville District. You’ll hear updates from our previous board meetings (we will discuss gold mining, telecommunications, taxes, and more). I will be taking questions from my constituents. Please make plans to attend!
