This is a Special Edition of The Maysville Voice, informing those living and voting in the Maysville Election District of upcoming actions and considerations that affect them by the Board of Supervisors.
This is somewhat of a deviation of our normal newsletters as this information pertains to the County Planning Commission’s upcoming Monday, July 25, 2022, 7 PM Meeting, to be held at the County Administration Building on U.S. Route 60.
The Planning Commission voted last month, in June, to hold a Public Hearing regarding the rezoning of the Industrial Park Property that the Board of Supervisors voted to enter into a contract of sale with Atlantic Investment Corp, LLC.
This hearing has been cancelled as the principal of Atlantic Investment Corp. LLC, Ted Lloyd, had decided that, rather than a rezoning application, a special use permit would better serve the intent of his purpose for the property due to the fact that the park is not fully zoned, as advertised, as M-1, light industrial.
This revelation, which was recently dawned on County Staff and the Planning Commission, is the impetus for the change by the applicant. It is not zoned as such. The zoning change came in 2015 by the then members of the Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors.
To be clear, there will be no public hearing on the matter on Monday, July 25. Those in favor and in opposition can speak during the public comment portion of the meeting before the Planning Commission though you must sign up before the meeting begins.

The applicant, because he was provided incorrect information by the County, is seeking a joint public hearing with both the Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors, in seeking remedy as not to be slowed in his process for a matter that was not in his control, that being the incorrect zoning of the industrial park which was conveyed to him.
