The Maysville Voice: Upcoming Monday, Aug 8, 2022, 6 PM Board Meeting: Six New Zoning Related Hearings Set, Presentations, Three New Zoning Matters, and More

Welcome to The Maysville Voice, the newsletter for those who reside and vote in the Maysville District in Buckingham County. I am pleased to bring you lots of information, links, and resources to inform and engage with you as your County Supervisor. This newsletter is filled with lots of resources and information for our Monday, Aug 8, 2022 Board Meeting, which I hope you will consider attending.

We also have six rezoning and zoning-related public hearings which were set on July 11 for this coming Monday.  It will indeed be a long meeting. The hearings revolve around a private Amish one room school, a proposed campsite venue, AirBnB, and event center, a Dollar Tree, a natural gas storage and distribution expansion, a general convenience store, and an agricultural based business including feed and supplies.

Please make sure to pay close attention to what you sign up for to speak as you must sign up and be recognized before speaking during public comment or any public hearing.

We will also consider several budgetary requests from the sheriff’s office, along with a recommendation from the ARPA Finance Committee regarding funding requests.

We’ll also consider a vote on allocating $5,000 for the Youth League for travel expenses for the Coach Pitch Team Expenses in a retroactive manner. We are all so proud of them!

We’ll also be hearing presentations from the Department of Wildlife Resources, the Department of Forestry, and a presentation for a resolution in memorial for the late Bonnie Lou LeSueur Wood.

Our upcoming Board of Supervisors regular meeting will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 8, 2022, in the Peter Francisco Board Room in the County Administration Complex on Route 60. I encourage you to attend to learn more about your County Government and how your tax dollars are spent. If you’re unable to attend in person, you can view our meeting live here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCfIL3rVTUEqgxBwXCQoBDTA.
